GAIN Apprentorship

Coaching athletic development from design to implementation

http://www.thegainnetwork.com

The mission of this program is to develop a cadre of experts to define the field of Athletic Development by educating professionals in foundational principles and methodology. Apprentorship = Apprenticeship + Mentorship, combines the features of both into a unique interactive blend of theory and practice in a five-day residential coaching school. This is an opportunity to observe, question, and explore the application of the Gambetta Method - Systematic Sport Development Model of training and injury rehabilitation.

I always admired the countries who get the best out of what they have-the under dogs. So, you have to hand it to the Aussies. It was great to watch that women's hurdler & that diver win medals. You can tell neither expected it, they just love to compete. Even in the sports medicine realm-all this emphasis on manual therapy in the last 5 years had it's genesis down under decades ago.

Joe P, I'm so proud that you admire our Australian athletes. Our nations history is full of great underdog stories. From a very young age our kids are encouraged to be competitive and to never give up. I think we also have a very strong attitude to 'practical' application of sports science, from our coaches.
However for me, the most significant performance by a team at the games was the British Cycling team. Their absolute dominance in all events was credit to the hard work that has gone into the program over the last ten years.
